- Color: The most commonly seen Beagle color is black & tan. Many times there will be white on the chest, legs, under belly & possibly the face and tail. Other colors can be tri-color, yellow & white and orange & white.
Beagle Temperament
The Beagle breed is gentle, intelligent, curious and playful. They enjoy receiving attention & praise from their owners. This joyful breed loves children and does well with other dogs. One distinctive trait of the Beagle is their howling bark.

The Beagle life expectancy is between 12 – 15 years. The Beagle breed is a relatively healthy breed. Some health concerns to look for are:

Beagle Coat & Coat Care
Their coat is short, dense, sleek and tight to the body. The coat is also water resistant.
The Beagle coat has very little maintenance. Brushing 2 – 3 times weekly should help keep your Beagle’s coat shiny and healthy. The Beagle is an average shedder and will require more attention during the shedding season. Bathe when necessary with a mild shampoo.
